CHARLES SETTLES—1946. He was another great footballer on the 1945 and 46 team where he played tackle. He was a big man, over 230 pounds, and was known as the fastest man on the team for about 75 yards. “Fat-a-Pop”, as he was affectionally known, had a devastating effect on his opponents. Lenoir City lost only one game the last two years he played, while winning 21 games, including 2 bowl games. He was elected as a charter member to the Hall of Fame in 1970. |
