NANCY BOWMAN– 1971

She was a 3 year starter for the Lady Panthers when in her junior year she averaged 26 points per game, was the second leading scorer in the District, and voted Best Offensive and team MVP. Her senior year, she was elected Co-Captain and averaged over 30 points per game, was leading scorer in the District and fifth in the state. She made All District and MVP. She scored over 1300 points in her career. She played for The Tennessee Lady Vols 4 years, including playing on Pat Head Summitt’s first team. She made All State TCWSF in 1974 and tried out for the World Games in 1974. In addition to basketball, she also was a member of the Lady Vols’ Field Hockey team and served as Tri-Captain in 1974.  She coached Women’s basketball at the University of the South from 1980-1990, where she coached 3 All Americans. Presently, she is Assistant Athletics Director and Women’s golf coach at the University of the South. She was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2006.
