DONNIE JENKINS - 1961

Donnie Jenkins earned 3 basketball letters at LCHS. As senior, he was elected Captain and was Best Defensive player and All District. Led the team in assists and was second in scoring. He was a 2 year starter at Hiawassee Junior College and elected Captain his last year. He later was a 2 year starter at Berry College and again was elected Captain of his team. He coached basketball at Dalton (Ga.) High School and then returned as head coach and Athletic Director at Hiawassee Junior College. In his 14 years there, he won 71% of his games and was inducted into the Tennessee Junior College Hall of Fame in 1988. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2007.
